First bidder workshops carried out successfully

In March, the eGovernment Association in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in close cooperation with its partner, the company Healy Hudson, carried out first bidder workshops on the online awarding platform, which was partly developed with support of egoprise. On 21.03. such an event took place in the city of Ludwigslust and on 22.03. in the Hanseatic City of Wismar. The response was extremely positive. In Ludwigslust about 30 and in the Hanseatic city of Wismar about 100 entrepreneurs took the opportunity to learn about electronic procurement procedure and the possibilities of the online awarding portal of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
After presenting the platform, and especially its features, the opportunity was given to the participants to ask questions. Starting with subjects about registration, how to search for tenders, how to participate in limited invitations to tender or to use the cover sheet method in the tender up to questions of costs and, of course, the security of information on the company when registering, the entrepreneurs got a competent answer to every of its doubts and questions. What was clear to all, both the attending companies as well as the present representatives of the municipalities, was that the introduction of electronic awarding of contracts is a process in which both sides must pull together and must be accomplished gradually.
In general, it was found out that the issue is much more extensively known and widespread in the enterprises as commonly assumed and asserted. They are very open-minded about the matter and certainly see the benefits of the electronic procurement procedure for itself and for cooperating with the municipalities. One can say that the companies in our country are willing and able to apply electronic awarding of contracts. It is now a matter of the governments to offer e-procurement and to enable participation of the businesses.
In the next few weeks more workshops are planned in other communities. The important thing is always that these events are organized jointly with the administration and the eGovernment Association in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, since the meeting is about informing and involving the regional economy in the process of introducing electronic awarding of contracts. All interested businesses should be encouraged and motivated to use the services and to compete for public contracts.
